Ronan is 16 Months!
Ronan is now 16 months! He is learning so many communication tools - not only words (add "cheese" and "book" to the list!), but more signs and gestures, as well. He has become very interested in books, and will occasionally even sit by himself and flip through a book or two. The teacher is me is very excited to see this skill and interest emerge!
He had a little bit of a cold this month, but with rest, juice and a couple of visits to the chiropractor, he was able to kick it pretty quickly. He has pretty much weaned, only asking to nurse a few times in the past month. It is very bittersweet for me, and when he is sick, I wish I could nurse him to help him get healthy again quickly.
He has had a huge growth spurt, and can suddenly reach things he couldn't before, including the lever for the front door, and the counter tops. We had a scary moment recently where Ronan reached up and pulled down a dish towel with three sharp knives drying on it. He escaped with only a small scrape just below his nose, but it was very scary for all of us.

We've been spending more and more time outside, in the beautiful Seattle spring sunshine! We go on walks, to the park and even visited Kelsey Creek Farm in Bellevue. Last weekend we went to the UW campus to see the cherry blossoms in bloom and play in the quad. Ronan loves playing outside!

New Words!
We can add a few new words to Ronan's vocabulary: kitty, Lily (our friend), ducky, juice and "uh-oh"!

Blog FAIL
So I have failed at keeping Ronan's blog updated. I guess that's how it goes when you're a working mom with an active toddler!
Ronan is now 15 months old! He is walking, running, climbing, using sign language, saying a few words (hi, mama, dada, doggie), and finally interested in books. :)
If you haven't heard already, Ronan is also going to be a big brother! "Deuce" is due sometime around the first week of July. At the advice of our midwife, Ronan has his own sling that he sometimes carries his "baby" around in. Hopefully, with a lot of role playing, the transition to big brother will go smoothly.

He weighs 22lb 8oz, and still nurses a couple times a day. He has 8+ teeth (the + is because I can't get my finger in there to feel if there are more), including two molars on the top! I was surprised to find those two!
We recently took a trip to New York City for a family wedding. NYC isn't the easiest city to do with a toddler, but we managed. He did well on the airplane, and enjoyed the Children's Museum of Manhattan, where we got to meet friends Crystal, Ravi and Elanor! It was wonderful finally getting to meet our friends and see the kids playing together. Unfortunately it was on this trip that Ronan got his first bout of stomach flu. He was a trooper, though, and recovered quickly.
With Mommy's cousin, Jonathan (the groom!)
Snuggling with Daddy (watching Mythbusters) - recovery from stomach bug
Fun with hotel toilet paper...
SUPER bundled up! It was COLD in NYC!
Friends Crystal and Elanor!
Here are some somewhat recent pictures of Ronan. I'd like to get some pictures/video of him using sign language, so that will me my little "project" for the next couple of weeks!
