I tried to get this done last Saturday, but that just didn't happen. I guess that's life with a little one!
Ronan is now 6 weeks (and 3 days) old! I canNOT believe how fast the time has gone. He hasn't reached any huge milestones - no rolling over, no social smiling, but he is GROWING like CRAZY. I'm not sure how much he weighs, but I'm betting over 8 pounds now. He is officially in size 3mo clothes. He grew too long for the nb size at about 5 weeks, but mentally I just wasn't ready to put the newborn clothes away! I made him wear them an extra week until he was 6 weeks old. That gave me some emotional adjustment time. And really, most of his 3mo clothes are MUCH cuter than his nb stuff!
We have a nice little morning routine down, but there is not really a pattern to the rest of the day. It depends on what I'm doing and if I have any plans or appointments. When we stay home, he sleeps very well in my arms, on the Boppy pillow or in the swing. I want to work on transitioning him to sleep in his bed, but it's hard to try it when he sleeps so well everywhere else! Unfortunately sleeping so well during the day has led to some not-so-good nights. Most nights he snuggles in bed with us and sleeps for a good 3-4 hours, wakes up to nurse, then sleeps another 3-4 hours. I'd say most nights I get about 7 hours of sleep with one short wake-up in there. A few nights though, he decides to be AWAKE and CRYING. He did this on Christmas Eve, even though I told him Santa only visits GOOD little boys who go to SLEEP! :) Those nights are very taxing on both Ricky and I, but fortunately we've only had a handful of them in the last 6 1/2 weeks.
Ricky is back to work, (unless the snow keeps him home,) and feels a little guilty being away, but is enjoying getting back into a routine. When he comes home, he scoops Ronan right up and loves on him. He's been great about taking care of him in the evening hours so I can have a break and some "me" time. He's even kept Ronan for a few hours at a time so I could go out by myself and do some shopping and get a haircut. I enjoyed the alone time. :)
Ronan has even had his first babysitters! The first time we left him it was a bit bittersweet, and of course he was just fine. It was much harder on me than it was on him! (But I didn't cry!!)
