Ronan - 8 Months!

Ronan is now 8 months old! This past month has been one of incredible growth and development. He was weighed on the 13th, and was 14lb 12.5oz. When our Nurse Practitioner tracked him on the growth chart, he's not even on it. She is not worried however, as he has never lost weight, his muscle tone, skin, eyes and everything else look good, he's eating a ton, and he's hitting all of his developmental milestones. She's encouraging me to keep nursing and keep feeding him fruits and veggies, fortified with rice cereal. Next month, she'll do a blood draw to check his iron and vitamin D levels. If at 1 year, he's still not on the growth chart, she may refer us to a nutritionist at Children's Hospital. I'm not worried about him though - he just seems to be a tiny guy!

This past month has been a bunch of milestones for Ronan! He bonked his head on the dining room table hard enough to cry (and leave a little mark!), he started scooting, he saw fireworks for the first time on 4th of July, he went "swimming" in his little pool! He's tried avocado (hates it!), cantaloupe, mango, watermelon, banana, cherries, and O's.

Recently he has started getting up on all 4's, and making valiant attempts at crawling! He's not quite there yet, but getting closer every day. He's also started responding to his name. He loves music and singing, and recognizes some signs we've been using, such as eat, milk and more. It will be exciting when he begins to sign on his own, communicating his needs to us.

We've had a great summer of fun so far, and are looking forward to even more fun! Here are some pics I've taken recently:
